SHiP Technologies

The building and construction process is not a simple one by nature. Each part has inherent complexities that multiply through the process. Compounding these complexities are the inefficiencies of traditional process. In the tremendous waste existing in the traditional processes are huge opportunities for the SHiP group. Identifying potential for value improvement and applying research to take advantage of the opportunities has been an integral part of the business strategies of individual members of the SHiP Group long before we became an allied group. The history of research and development of process, software and prototypes dates back to the late 80s for members in the group.

There has been a consistent and accelerated focus of investing in research and development. This R&D effort includes:

• Creation and implementation of working prototypes for various phases in the design and construction process.
• Creation and implementation of intelligent database driven processes in the management and implementation of projects
• Creation of expert system intelligent objects for use in the design process.
• Capturing of logic and requirements of products and processes in custom GDL objects and APIs.
• Creating links between various systems and processes
• Creation of processes for effectively integrating the use of interoperable tools in project delivery.
• Creation of new methodologies and technologies to deliver Response Enhanced Design, project management systems and other support systems required to effectively and successfully deliver projects using the interoperable paradigm.

In addition to research and development efforts, members of the SHiP group are leaders on various fronts of changing the industry by being voices and founders of technology groups, mindset shifting presentations, connections to government agencies and other groups. Initially, we started as a small voice in a large forest, but now a major shift is taking place. The collaborative effort of SHiP members produces new concepts and ideas that will be considered major shifts in the industry. Our ability to identify both industry wide and project level needs and the ability to successfully implement them is a major part of the value of the SHiP group.
