Training Scenarios and Simulations
- Threat Assessment Scenario Simulation
- Analysis tool based on real world data
Another benefit derived from the SHiP process is the ability to develop training scenarios. For example, if you wished to develop training for response to a terrorist attack, SHiP could use the existing risk analysis and threat objects that are an integral part of our process, to virtually create an attack. Since the risk analysis has previously identified the threats and vulnerabilities to critical assets we can simulate a virtual attack that would be very real in nature. Additionally, we could simulate the conditions that the trainees would encounter in their response options.
If, for example, a bomb was detonated in a certain location (in order to take out an identified key asset) using the threat objects we could accurately predict the size bomb required and the amount and location of the damage and casualties (the model can also predict costs associated with the damage). The model contains all the data needed to develop constraints to any response selected by a trainee. Where would the trainee set up the triage for the casualties? Does the selected triage zone meet the requirement for the number of casualties and for the amount and types of responding equipment? Will access become congested with debris, people trying to evacuate the area or incoming emergency vehicles? Our information would include the size and dispersion of the debris field, the number of personnel and vehicles likely trying to exit the scene, and the amount and type of emergency personnel and vehicles trying to enter. Additionally our information would detail the width of roadways, height of curbs and barriers and other factors that might affect an emergency response. If the triage zone is not large enough, or perhaps down wind the model will reflect that too, pointing out the error in the trainees response to the incident.
