Integrated Information
Through the use of 3D/parametric (virtual) models the client (and any interested stakeholders) have the ability to visualize the facility in accurately rendered three dimensional (3D) models. This allows the client and design professionals to plan the facility virtually. They can explore various scenarios and options seeing how they might look and how they work with the intended facility function, what the associated costs are, and how they will effect the life cycle of the facility. The traditional method takes much longer, is not as fast or accurate, often using samples of materials, catalog cuts, etc. that have to be collected and then imagined in the context of the facility. With 3D models the owner can see how each choice looks and which ones most appropriately suit the facilities intended function. The process also allows for more controlled bidding and negotiations with contractors much earlier in the process. |
